Cortez golf course features a café, pro shop, and driving range. This course was ranked 6th
in the Top Ten of Arkansas Golf Courses.
The Cortez course is an 18-hole, par 72 Championship course built in 1977.
Designed by Ault, Clark and Associates of Maryland, Cortez features a driving range and putting green.
Cortez was the second course to open in Hot Springs Village, and was ranked the 3rd Best Course in Arkansas by
Golf Digest in 1989, and the 6th Best Course in Arkansas in 1997.
Hole #17 is the most recognizable of Hot Springs Village golf courses, found on many brochures and post cards
around the village.
Cortez is Common Bermuda grass fairways and tees, and Penncross Bentgrass greens.
The Cortez Clubhouse features a golf shop and the Wood N Iron. Darrell and Rebecca Hargrove are the new
operators at the Wood N Iron. They offer traditional grill favorites with Tex-Mex and BBQ daily.
The Wood N Iron serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and has draft and canned beer, as well as wine coolers. Patio dining is also
